This project consisted of a single storey vertical extension to Stillorgan Plaza to accomodate a new gym. To achieve lightweight construction and avoid forming new transfer columns through the live retail environment below to basement foundation level, the primary structure consisted of steel frame with light gauge steel frame flooring and roofing. To minimise sound transfer to the adjacent live cinema during operational phase, all steel framing was supported on acoustic bearings.
